Frequently Asked Questions

Everything businesses ask about cheque printing software, PDC management, bank templates, EasyCheck pricing and security — answered.

Can't find your answer?

1. Cheque Printing — General

What is cheque printing software?

Cheque printing software is a desktop or cloud application that prints cheque details — date, beneficiary name, amount in figures and amount in words — directly onto a pre-printed bank cheque leaf. It replaces the manual process of handwriting cheques. For UAE businesses, this means faster, error-free cheque issuance, automatic conversion of figures to words, and consistent alignment across every bank's cheque layout.

Is cheque printing software legal in UAE and the GCC?

Yes — cheque printing software is fully legal in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, provided the printed cheque uses a bank-issued cheque leaf and the printed content matches the bank's required fields (date, beneficiary, amount in figures, amount in words). The cheque is then signed and stamped by the authorised signatory before dispatch — exactly as with a handwritten cheque. None of the GCC central banks prohibit printed cheques. EasyCheck is used by hundreds of businesses across the GCC — in construction, real estate, trading, logistics and SMEs. See our legal compliance guide for the full breakdown.

Why do UAE and GCC businesses still use cheques?

Cheques remain the preferred payment method for business transactions across the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia — particularly for rental agreements, supplier credit, equipment finance and PDC-based settlements — because they create a dated payment commitment that is legally enforceable. Rental contracts in the UAE and other GCC countries almost universally require post-dated cheques. Cheques also remain the standard for B2B payments across the GCC where bank transfer fees, currency conversion or transaction visibility matter.

Can EasyCheck print bulk cheques from an Excel file?

Yes. EasyCheck supports bulk cheque printing from Excel in two ways. First, you can upload an Excel file with beneficiary, amount, date and bank account columns. Second — and this is a newer option — you can simply copy the rows directly from your Excel sheet and paste them straight into EasyCheck, which is faster when you are working from a live spreadsheet and do not want to save and upload a separate file. Either method prints all cheques in one batch. Bulk cheque printing is available on Business Plus and Premium plans, and is widely used by construction companies, real estate firms and SMEs paying multiple suppliers or contractors in a single payment run.

How fast is cheque printing with EasyCheck?

A typical UAE business prints a cheque in under 30 seconds with EasyCheck — selecting the bank, beneficiary and amount, then sending to the printer. Bulk cheque printing from Excel processes 50 to 100 cheques in a single batch in 2–3 minutes. The PDC Calendar surfaces upcoming cheques automatically, so the finance team is not searching for what to print next.

2. Post-Dated Cheques (PDC)

What is a post-dated cheque (PDC) in UAE?

A post-dated cheque is a cheque issued today but dated for a future date — the date on which the bank will process it. In UAE, PDCs are standard for rental agreements (2, 4, 6 or 12 cheques per annual lease), equipment finance, auto loans and supplier credit terms. The full PDC series is typically issued at contract signing.

How does the PDC Calendar in EasyCheck work?

EasyCheck's PDC Calendar is a visual monthly view of every upcoming post-dated cheque across all bank accounts. Each entry shows the beneficiary, AED amount, bank account and status (Pending, Printed, Cleared). Monthly totals are visible at a glance, and you can navigate between months to plan cash flow. PDC Calendar is included on all EasyCheck plans.

Can EasyCheck generate a full PDC series in one batch?

Yes. Enter the start date, frequency (monthly, quarterly, custom) and number of cheques, and EasyCheck calculates every future date in the series automatically. Preview all dates and amounts before printing, then print the entire batch as a single PDF. Bulk PDC printing is available on Business Plus and Premium plans.

Does EasyCheck send alerts before a PDC cheque is due?

Yes. EasyCheck shows upcoming PDC cheques on the dashboard with customisable alert timing — each team member configures their own preferences (one day before, three days before, one week before). This gives finance enough lead time to verify the account balance and act before the clearing date.

What happens if a PDC cheque bounces in UAE?

A bounced cheque in the UAE can expose the issuing business to civil claims from the payee, additional bank charges, and damage to supplier or landlord relationships — and in some situations may trigger further legal consequences. It can also trigger lease termination clauses or supplier-credit withdrawal. EasyCheck's PDC Calendar and alerts are designed to prevent the loss-of-track scenario that causes most bounced PDCs. For specific legal questions, consult a UAE-qualified lawyer.

3. Bank Templates

Which UAE banks does EasyCheck support?

EasyCheck supports cheque printing for every UAE bank, including Emirates NBD, ADCB, FAB (First Abu Dhabi Bank), Mashreq, RAKBANK, ADIB, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Islamic, ENBD Private, HSBC UAE, Standard Chartered UAE, Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), Sharjah Islamic Bank, National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) and others. Custom templates can be configured for any bank.

Does EasyCheck support banks in Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia?

Yes. EasyCheck supports cheque printing for every major bank across the GCC. Custom cheque templates can be configured for any bank in the region, on every plan, with no extra fee.

  • Oman: Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman (NBO), Oman Arab Bank, Bank Dhofar, Sohar International, Bank Nizwa, HSBC Oman and others.
  • Qatar: Qatar National Bank (QNB), Commercial Bank of Qatar, Doha Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Masraf Al Rayan, Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), Ahli Bank, HSBC Qatar and others.
  • Bahrain: National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), Ahli United Bank, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), Al Salam Bank, Bahrain Islamic Bank, Ithmaar Bank, HSBC Bahrain and others.
  • Kuwait: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Gulf Bank, Burgan Bank, Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Boubyan Bank, Warba Bank and others.
  • Saudi Arabia: Saudi National Bank (SNB), Al Rajhi Bank, Riyad Bank, Banque Saudi Fransi, Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB), Arab National Bank (ANB), Alinma Bank, Bank Albilad and others.

Each cheque template is calibrated once per bank account using the scan-and-configure or manual-measurement methods — and once calibrated, every cheque from that account prints aligned correctly.

How do I set up a cheque template for my bank?

There are two ways to set up a cheque template in EasyCheck. First — scan and configure: scan an existing cheque from your bank, upload the image, then drag and drop each field (date, beneficiary, amount in figures, amount in words) into position visually. Second — manual measurement: enter the exact dimensions of each field in millimetres. Either approach takes just 3–5 minutes, and it is a one-time setup per bank account — once the template is calibrated, every cheque from that account prints aligned correctly without any further configuration.

Can I have different templates for different bank accounts?

Yes. EasyCheck supports unlimited custom cheque templates across all plans. Most UAE businesses set up one template per bank account — so a company with three accounts (Emirates NBD, ADCB and Mashreq, for example) would have three calibrated templates. Switching between them at print time is a single click.

What if I open a new bank account — do I have to pay extra for a new template?

No. EasyCheck includes unlimited custom templates on every plan. Adding a template for a new bank account is part of your existing licence — no upgrade or additional fee is required.

Can EasyCheck print cheques for Arabic and English bank fields?

Yes. EasyCheck supports printing on UAE bank cheques that include both English and Arabic field labels. The system prints the beneficiary, amount in figures, and amount in words into the correct field on the cheque leaf regardless of the language label position. Bilingual cheque support is included on all plans.

Can EasyCheck print the cheque details in Arabic?

Yes. Arabic cheque printing is supported in the EasyCheck Desktop edition — you can print the beneficiary name, amount in words and other cheque details in Arabic, directly onto your UAE bank cheque leaf. Arabic printing is offered as a separate edition of the software. To request a quote for the Arabic-enabled version, email us at hello@easycheckpro.com.

What happens after my 3-year licence expires?

After Year 3, EasyCheck offers a low-cost annual renewal. Starter renews at AED 300/year, Business Plus at AED 400/year and Premium at AED 400/year. Your data remains yours throughout, and the renewal covers continued software access and updates.

What happens if my laptop breaks or I upgrade my system?

There is nothing to reinstall — EasyCheck is cloud-based software. Just log in from your new laptop or device using your existing EasyCheck account, and all your cheque templates, beneficiaries, PDC records and history are available immediately. Your data is held securely in the cloud and is not tied to any single machine.

5. Security, Compliance & Data

Is my cheque data secure with EasyCheck?

Yes. EasyCheck stores cheque data securely with role-based access control — administrators manage templates and beneficiaries, staff handle printing — so sensitive data is only visible to authorised users. Data is held in encrypted form, and the audit trail records every cheque issued, by whom and when, for full traceability during financial audits.

Does EasyCheck comply with banking regulations?

EasyCheck is designed for businesses across the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and follows the cheque format requirements of all major banks in the region. The software does not alter or interfere with bank cheque leaves — it prints details onto official, pre-issued cheque leaves in accordance with established banking practice. EasyCheck also supports good cheque-management discipline — accurate dating, beneficiary records and a complete audit trail — which helps businesses stay aligned with banking and cheque-handling expectations across the GCC.

Can I export my cheque data for accounting or audits?

Yes. EasyCheck supports exporting cheque history — beneficiary, amount, date, bank account, status, user who printed it — for any date range. The export is suitable for reconciliation with accounting systems, monthly closing, and submission to auditors. Export is included on all plans.

Who can access cheque records in EasyCheck?

EasyCheck supports multi-user access with role-based permissions. The administrator manages templates and beneficiaries. Staff users handle day-to-day cheque printing. Each user's actions are recorded in the audit trail. PDC alerts can be configured per user — so each finance team member sees the reminders relevant to their workflow.
